On September 10, 2016 the 1st Annual Andrew Mazza Foundation Chicken BBQ took place at Creekside Grove, Lenoxville. Over 1000 of Andrew's family members, friends and community members attended to celebrate Andrew's life and to raising funding for NEPA Community Heath Care to open the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Heath Center in Greenfield Township, PA. In addition to the Chicken BBQ, the day included basket raffles, 50/50 raffle, live entertainment, "Spool in Peace" apparel sales and other food and beverage vendor areas.
On July 15, 2017 family members, friends, and sponsors/donors to the Andrew Mazza Foundation were invited to the future site of the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center for a private showing. Food for the evening was supplied by Iron Heart Brewery and donations were made to host a silent auction, including the naming rights to various rooms at the Health Center. Through this event we were able to donate additional funds to NEPA Community Health Care to further the construction and operation of the Health Center.
On October 21, 2017 the 2nd Annual Andrew Mazza Foundation Chicken BBQ took place at Creekside Grove, Lenoxville. Around 800 of Andrew's family members, friends and community members attended to celebrate Andrew's life and to raise additional funding for the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center in Greenfield Township, PA. Both NEPA Community Health Care and our latest partnership, Johnson College were represented at the event. In addition to the Chicken BBQ, the day included basket raffles, gun raffles, 50/50 raffle, live entertainment, "Spool in Peace" apparel sales and other food and beverage vendor areas.
In late 2017 we decided that another route we wanted to take to honor Andrew's life was to team up with an organization that supported something he was very passionate about, Diesel Trucks. In conjunction with the Johnson College Diesel Technology Program an inaugural Diesel Truck Show took place in Andrews Memory on June 10th 2018. "Andrew Mazza Diesel Jam" will take place again in 2019 at a date to be determined. A portion of the proceeds from this event are donated to the diesel program at Johnson College.
In early February 2018 construction began on the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center. At its core, the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center has been a labor of love, handled with the utmost care and attention to detail. It is a privilege to be so warmly welcomed by the community, and we are honored to serve your family as we open our doors on April 25th. Together, we are not only creating a healthier community but also ensuring that Andrew’s name and spirit live on as a beacon of light, love and sacrifice for one another.
A Grand Opening Celebration was held for the community on Saturday, May 19th from Noon-3pm at the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center. Hundred of people within the community came to tour the facility, meet the staff and celebrate this honor with Andrew's family and friends.
The 3rd Annual Andrew Mazza Foundation Chicken BBQ took place on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Creekside Grove, Lenoxville from 11am-6pm. Again, around 800 of Andrew's family members, friends and community members attended to celebrate Andrew's life and to raise additional funding for the community in which Andrew called home. The money raised will go towards community based enrichment projects.
In addition to the Chicken BBQ the day also included basket raffles, 50/50 raffles, additional food available, a beverage tent, "Spool in Peace" apparel sales and more!
In 2018 we teamed up with Johnson College to create a local event where the Diesel Community was showcased and we were able to raise funding for both the college and our foundation, which was the first year of Andrew Mazza Diesel Jam. After experiencing such a success with the event, 2019 Andrew Mazza Diesel Jam was held for the second year at Johnson College. A portion of the proceeds from this event are donated to the diesel program at Johnson College for purchase of equipment and tools. Additionally, a Johnson College Diesel Program student will receive a scholarship through the event proceeds for 2019-2020 school year.
On Saturday, September 28th 2019 The Andrew Mazza Foundation hosted it's 4th annual Chicken BBQ, with a twist! Working with Sleepy Hollow Golf Course to bring you the same BBQ we all love so much, but adding in a golf tournament!
This was a first time event for us incorporating the golf tournament and we can not thank everyone enough for their support and encouragement. Proceeds from this event will be used to support four local high school scholarships, funding for the Clifford Truck-or-Treat event and other community events and improvement projects.
NEPA Community Health Care was established in 1983 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the people of rural Susquehanna county. It is a core belief of NEPA CHC that primary care is the foundation of whole-person health and, as such, the gateway to all medical subspecialties. As medicine and technology continue to advance, family practitioners remain at the center of care coordination, relying upon the long-standing relationships built with patients to direct the course of appropriate and effective subspecialty treatment. The Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center will continue the NEPA CHC culture of providing comprehensive primary care, OB/GYN, psychiatric and behavioral health services inclusive of health screenings, family planning, immunizations, well-child services, gynecological and prenatal care. In looking to the future, it is the organization’s goal to leverage the Andrew C. Mazza Memorial Health Center as a platform to provide dental services to the communities of both Lackawanna and Susquehanna counties.

In 2017 we partnered with the Johnson College Diesel Truck Technology Program to begin awarding $1000 Academic Scholarships to two students entering the program to assist them in receiving a degree in a field that was a passion of Andrew's. The 2017 Scholarship recipients were Jesse Korty and Joshua Dippel.
Our mission is to give back to the community that Andrew called home and to support their efforts in enriching the area for everyone who calls it home. We proudly support the efforts of community enrichment at both Newton Lake and in Greenfield Township by providing funding to their various causes. In 2017 we were proud to sponsor the Newton Lake Centennial Celebration and will continue to sponsor events from those who call Newton Lake home, as Andrew had. Additionally, we have provided funding for various community enrichment and enhancement endeavors in Greenfield Township.
"A Moment in Our Arms, A Lifetime in Our Hearts."
In an effort to honor all of our loved ones we have created a memorial plaque, hung at The Paradise Inn, Greenfield Township. The Paradise Inn is a Mazza Family Establishment that Andrew was instrumental in re-opening and helping to maintain.
For more information on how to honor your loved one on this plaque please contact Dawn Ziegler.
